Supach

The woman in the mirror smiles with her tired empty eyes. Deep sadness now behind that smile she wears as her disguise. Without you, her time ticks slowly by, her minutes turn to years. Life goes on relentlessly like the drip, drip, drip of her tears. Another breaking dawn without you, it breaks her lonely heart. Another day alone without you, another day apart. How could she just live on without you, how could she just go on? Each passing day she longs to see you, each waking minute gone. Her life, it will go on without you, if she wants it to or not cos just like her endless love for you, the time will never stop. Poetry by Suzanne Karba

Lady luck is a fickle creature, who likes to play around. Just when you're up flying high, she can bring you down. You can cross your fingers all you want, even kiss a rabbits paw, if she decides it's not your day, she'll walk right out the door. Lucky in love or lucky with money, she will choose who wins and if she hears your cursing cries, she just turns away and grins. You have to keep her happy, don't try to bend her will. Please try to just remember this and then keep calm and chill. It's best to stop and wait a while, when things seem really stuck, till the lady smiles again, there's no need to push your luck. by Suzanne  

No one knows how much I hurt, they can't imagine that much pain, they think I'm acting normally and am coping with the strain. I speak to them, we laugh, they think I'm still the same, they don't see me crying helplessly or they'd think I am deranged. It's not easy being without you, trying to live life on my own, with this ever cruel reality that's really hitting home. You're gone from me, forever, you won't be coming back. Me I'm left here standing and inside I'm a wreck. You broke my heart the day you left, my happiness went too What good's all this pretending when, I'd just rather be with you. Suzanne   May 2014  

I remember when I was a child, I'd dream that I could fly. Taking off from our balcony, and never doubting why. There I'd stand, spread out my arms, push off, soar high into the air, feeling great excitement, the wind rushing through my hair. I'd race across the village and fly over all the farms. Free as a bird, I'd fly with speed, ascend with out-stretched arms. I'd pass over my old school yard, see all my playing friends. They all look up and greet me with smiles of wonderment. I'd reach the village church tower the bells chiming in my ears. My heart full glee, I'm invincible, having no more fears. This dream was all a part of my childhood
