Halloween dreams (Poem)

It was the moonlit night of Halloween,
when monsters prowl and ghosts are seen.
Tom sent a wish up to the moon,
to see a witch fly on her broom.
It's Trick and Treat for everyone
but Tom felt, there was something wrong.
In the pumpkin field on his old farm,
it was just too quiet, just too calm.
Tom grew bored and he grew sour,
he'd been waiting long for the witching hour.
Then the back door opened and he heard a shout.
"Come in now Tom, you're not staying out!"
A quick look up to sniff the air,
not a witch in sight, to earn Tom's stare.
So in he runs through the open door,
to a big dish of treats placed on the floor.
Later safe and warm, tucked in his bed,
he'd see witches fly in his dreams instead.
